The Valuation Service:

• provides valuations for our accounts, insurance and other purposes
• manages a large investment portfolio and collects rents
• challenges business rate assessments that are liable to increase our outgoings
• acquires properties when needed for providing our services
• disposes of surplus properties on the most advantageous terms
• gives strategic property advice to us, its committees, members and service departments.

This work helps to ensure that local services run efficiently and the Council Tax stays low.
