Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs)

Safer HUB Teams

Safer Transport

Wandsworth Safer Transport Team (STT) is a dedicated Inspector lead unit working out of Lavender Hill Police Station. The unit is split into three smaller teams, working in a similar way to Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs), consisting of a Sergeant, two PCs and seven PCSOs. The unit is funded by Transport for London and aims to improve passenger and staff safety and security on public transport, increase confidence and satisfaction in the policing of public transport networks and reduce crime and disorder around public transport networks. Policing of the rail and underground network is the responsibility of British Transport Police and therefore STT polices surface transport networks i.e. the bus system, licensed mini-cabs and hackney carriages. However, the STT work closely with BTP where appropriate and mount joint operations where these transport systems combine.

Town Centre Safety

Clapham Junction Hub Team

The Clapham Junction Hub Team's role is to patrol the area around Clapham Junction Rail Station transport hub in order to improve passenger perceptions of safety and security, reduce crime and disorder around the public transport network and reduce anti-social behaviour. Similar to an SNT they are led by one Sergeant and comprise one PC and six PCSOs. Based at Lavender Hill Police Station the team falls under the supervision of the Wandsworth STT Inspector.

Tooting Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team

The Tooting Town Centre SNT's role is to create a safer environment for all the residents, businesses and visitors of Tooting Town Centre. The team works seven days a week, providing a visible, reassuring presence to the public and working with local people and partners to identify and tackle issues of concern.
