What is anti-social behaviour?

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is any selfish and unacceptable activity that can blight the quality of community life.

Examples include:

  • nuisance neighbours
  • threatening and abusive behaviour 
  • intimidating groups taking over public spaces 
  • vandalism, graffiti and fly-posting
  • dealing and buying drugs on the street
  • dumped rubbish and abandoned cars
  • begging and anti-social drinking
  • misusing fireworks

Anti-social behaviour matters: it can have a negative effect on everyone's quality of life and we are committed to tackling it with all the powers at our disposal.
