About the Community Safety team
Overview
Our Community Safety team is one of the main members of the Wandsworth Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP), which delivers community safety and crime prevention services across the borough. It is an integral part of the Environmental Services and Community Safety Division of the Technical Services Department.
The team, headed by Robert Greaves, comprises Community Safety and Crime Prevention Services:

Crime Prevention Services
Manager: John Whittington
Crime Prevention Services comprises the Anti-Social Behaviour Unit (ASBU) and the Wandsafe Burglary Aftercare Service.
Services
Crime Prevention Services manage the borough's CCTV and Retail Radio network and is involved with various aspects of crime prevention and the administration and application of security grants.
Community Safety works in partnership with many organisations and community representatives and is an integral part of the Environmental Services and Community Safety Division of the Technical Services Department.
Impact on crime
Wandsworth is the safest borough in Inner London and has a consistently lower crime rate than the average for Greater London. Crime committed in the borough has in recent years fallen more than in similar higher crime areas.
In 2004/05, the cost of crime to taxpayers in Wandsworth was estimated to be £299,000,000; in 2007/08, it had fallen to £247,494,110.
