Saved UDP Policies
Under government legislation policies in the Unitary Development Plan were automatically "saved" until September 2007 while work on the new Local Development Framework (LDF) progressed. However, following a review of policies in the UDP the Secretary of State has determined that a number of these policies are no longer required or are replaced by Central Government or London Plan policy and has directed that they expire on 27th September 2007. The remaining policies are saved until a replacement document is adopted.
The adopted Development Plan for the borough consists of the London Plan 2011, the Core Strategy and the Unitary Development Plan. The Core Strategy was adopted in October 2010. At that time, the UDP policies listed in Appendix 3 of the Core Strategy were superseded and are no longer a material consideration in planning decisions. Although until adoption, the DMPD and the SSAD are not formally part of the Development Plan for the Borough, the Council has agreed to use the DMPD and the SSAD as a material consideration in the assessment of planning applications.
