Development Management Policies Document and Site Specific Allocations Document

The Development Management Policies Document (DMPD) supports the Core Strategy and London Plan and sets out the Council's detailed policies for managing development in the borough.

The Site Specific Allocations Document (SSAD) sets out the main sites where development or other change is anticipated, or where the Council has particular objectives, together with policies for individual sites and details about the allocation of waste sites and detailed maps relating to the tall buildings policy (DMS4 in the DMPD).

The DMPD and the SSAD were submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination in May 2011 and public Hearing Sessions as part of the Examination took place in September/October 2011.

The Council received the Inspector's Report on the Examination on 15 December 2011 and the documents were found sound subject to minor binding amendments.  It is expected that the Council will adopt the DMPD and the SSAD in February 2012.

When adopted the DMPD and the SSAD will replace the UDP.  Although until adoption, the DMPD and the SSAD are not formally part of the Development Plan for the Borough, the Council has agreed to use the DMPD and the SSAD as a material consideration in the assessment of planning applications, and the documents will now be accorded more weight following the receipt of the Inspector's report.

Pre-adoption versions of the DMPD and SSAD incorporating the Inspector's binding amendments are available to download
