Explore rowing boats have arrived!
Barn Elms Boathouse is one of the most recent clubs to become part of the Explore Rowing programme from British Rowing.
Flexible, fun and more varied rowing programmes for adult rowers is the vision behind 'Explore Rowing'. This new initiative is part of Rowings strategic plan to enable rowing clubs to attract more rowers and help them with the support and resources they need to keep both new and existing rowers in the sport.
The Boathouse is one of 50 rowing clubs that will be given £25,000 packages to purchase new and specially designed boats. These are more stable than the Olympic class racing boats and are perfect for beginners and experienced rowers alike.
Barn Elms and British Rowing will teach new learn-to-row schemes as well as a variety of new activities which will range from social rowing events to personal challenges, summer heads to tours.
