Ban on the sale of aerosol paints
On 31 March 2004 it became an offence to sell aerosol paint containers to a person under the age of 16.
Aerosol spray paints are one of the main causes of graffiti vandalism and by banning their sale to under 16s the Government hopes the level of graffiti will be reduced. The new powers are contained under section 54 of the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003.
