Bulky items and DIY waste collections
Introduction
We provide a service for residents to get rid of bulky items to discourage careless dumping on our streets. Over 8,000 collections are made each year.
Who and what is the service for?
- For people who live in the borough
- For household waste only
- It is not for businesses, property managers, landlords or other producers of commercial waste.
We will collect
- Rubbish too big or too heavy for your bin
- Rubbish from DIY work/home improvements
We will not collect
- Anything that cannot be lifted safely by two people
- Bricks, soil, rubble or stones
- Contractors' rubbish (eg rubbish produced by workmen employed within your home)
- Car batteries, engines or other car parts
- Commercial waste
