Conservation and enhancement grants

The Council has a budget which allows us to offer small discretionary grants. Grants can be made to schemes which make a significant impact on enhancing the appearance of buildings in conservation areas or the preservation of listed buildings. Works that are commonly grant aided include the reinstatement of lost features such as sash windows and original style railings or the removal of unsightly pebbledash or render.

Grants cannot unfortunately be made to every scheme and therefore priority is given to the most comprehensive schemes of enhancement rather single items. Applicants are advised to discuss their property with the Conservation and Design Group before making an application.
