Consent to alter a listed building

Proposals for demolition, or works to alter or extend a listed building that would affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest require listed building consent from the Council. This includes alterations to the interior.

Apply for planning permission.

It is a criminal offence to carry out works to a listed building without consent so it is advisable to consult the Council's Conservation and Design Officer at an early stage in the project.
