Building conservation and design

Wandsworth has a heritage that is rich in architectural and historic character. Many parts of the borough are designated as conservation areas and we have around 500 listed buildings and another 200 buildings on our own Local List.

We have a statutory duty to conserve and enhance the significance of our heritage assets under the Planning (Listed Buildings & Conservation Areas) Act 1990 and Planning Policy Statement 5: Planning for the Historic Environment.
