Street naming and numbering
Overview
From 1 April 2011 the Council is introducing charges for the provision of the street naming and numbering function.

The Council will assign addresses and provide the applicant with a confirmation letter/order, which should be sufficient for legal purposes, together with a copy of the regulations for the display of the name/number.
The Council will register the address(es) with Royal Mail and obtain the postcode and notify the applicant.
The new address information will be circulated to:
- Royal Mail
- Emergency services
- Some map and utility companies
- Land Registry
- Inland Revenue Valuation
- Council departments
