Transport Planning
What we do
The transportation team is responsible for the promotion of transport policy. This includes preparation of the Local Implementation Plan, which sets out our strategic vision for transport in the borough, taking account of the Mayor of London's Transport Strategy. We liaise on transport matters with relevant third parties such as public transport operators and Transport for London.
In addition, we also manage the implementation of a number of initiatives designed to promote greater use of public transport, cycling and walking. We promote sustainable modes of transport to schools and help schools to complete their travel plans.
We also help organisations with their workplace travel plans, to encourage staff to use more sustainable modes of transport. To try and reduce vehicle emissions, our team promotes Car Club and helps to get on-street car club bays in the borough.
