Entitlement and costs
You are entitled to one resident permit if:
- Your usual place of residence is within a controlled parking zone
(If you do not regularly live at such premises in the zone you do not qualify for a permit irrespective of your interest in the property).
and - You either own, keep or have the sole use of a vehicle.
(this vehicle can be either a passenger vehicle (car) or a goods vehicle of a height less than 3.2 metres (10ft 6ins) and length less than 6.5 metres (21ft 4ins) and a gross weight not exceeding 5 tonnes)
If you have borrowed or share a vehicle you will not be entitled to a permit unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Permits are not required for motorcycles, which may be parked free of charge in permit bays and shared use bays.
Proof of residence and vehicle ownership must be provided before your application can be approved.
Permit period and cost

The charges shown below and on the application forms only apply to first time applications and permits due for renewal from January 1 2011.
