Eligible countries (all elections)
British citizens and citizens of the Republic of Ireland are eligible to vote in all elections held in the United Kingdom. Below is a list of all other countries whose citizens are eligilble to vote at all elections held in this country.
British Overseas Territories

- Hong Kong (If holding a British Dependent Territories, British Nationals (Overses) or a British Overseas passport)

*Citizens of Gibraltar who are resident in Gibraltar are entitled to register to vote at European Parliamentary elections in the South West Region. This is administered by the European Registration Officer for Gibraltar.

* Fiji Ilands, Pakistan and Zimbabwe are currently not part of the Commonwealth. However, this does not alter the voting rights of citizens of this country. These countries are listed as a member of the Commonwealth in the British Nationality Act 1981 and unless that Act is amended, citizens of these countries resident in the United Kingdom remain qualifying Commonwealth citizens.
**Rwanda joined the Commonwealth on 10 March 2010 and from this date all Rwandan citizens living in the United Kingdom are eligible to register to vote in all elections held in the United Kingdom.
