Academic years 2010/11
These are the revised dates agreed by the London Government Association following concerns about the original dates which included less than two weeks for the Christmas Break.
Autumn term 2010
First day: Wednesday 1 September 2010
Last day: Friday 17 December 2010 (73 days)
Half term: Monday 25 to Friday 29 October 2010
Spring term 2011
First day: Tuesday 4 January 2011
Last day: Friday 8 April 2011 (64 days)
Half term: Monday 21 to Friday 25 February 2011
Summer term 2011
First day: Tuesday 26 April 2011
Last day: Friday 22 July 2011 (58 days)
Half term: Monday 30 to Friday 3 June 2011
Notes
Within the 195 days set out above, headteachers will need to designate, in consultation with staff, five non-teaching staff development days, which may be allocated as whole day training sessions during pupil holiday periods or by the use of additional hours before or after school sessions.
Governors of voluntary aided and foundation schools have the responsibility for determining the dates and times of school terms and holidays but, in order to assist parents and staff, may well wish to adopt this framework.
