Teacher recruitment
Experienced school workforce recruitment
All vacancies are advertised on the council's recruitment website.
Schools may also advertise their teacher and support staff vacancies via a number of other channels including:
- TES www.tes.co.uk
- Local and national press (e.g. Times Educational Supplement)
- Their own websites
- Job Centres
- Newsletters
A new website, the Schools Recruitment Service, has been developed for online recruitment to schools. Schools will begin advertising vacancies on this site in early 2010. Please check this website for further details in the New Year.
Please note that the council does not operate a pool system and therefore is unable to accept CVs or speculative application forms.
The South London Group (SLG)
We work collaboratively with a number of south London boroughs to recruit and retain teaching and support staff in our 900 schools. You will increase your chances of finding a suitable position if you consider looking for positions with our partner boroughs. Please refer to the SLG website where you will find vacancy information and the contact details of our colleagues throughout the area.
Supply teaching
Wandsworth works with employment agencies to fill supply vacancies in their schools. We do not run a centrally administered supply pool.
Wandsworth promotes the Pan London Preferred Supplier List (PSL) which is administered by the Association of London Government. This is a recommended list of employment agencies which have been awarded PSL status having demonstrated their commitment to induction, continued professional development of its employees and value for money. This has been achieved following assessment by a number of central government agencies and local authorities. The pay and charge rates will enable supply teachers and schools to make informed decisions about their agency of choice.
