The London Borough of Wandsworth has a growing and exciting economy. Southside Shopping Centre in Wandsworth has recently been refurbished and includes some of the big highstreet retailers, a food court and south London's biggest cinema complex.

A new planning application for a 5.5bn scheme to redevelop Battersea Power Station has been unveiled.  The plan will see 3,700 homes built alongside offices, shops and restaurants on a 40 acre site by the River Thames in south west London.

Transport links to the rest of London are excellent from Wandsworth. Britain's busiest railway station Clapham Junction has excellent links into central London's Victoria and Waterloo stations, north London and the south coast. Northern and District Line tube stations are accessible and an extensive bus network serves the entire borough. 

Wandsworth has the lowest council tax in the country yet enjoys some of the best services.  This has been recognised by the Audit Commission who commented that; "for Wandsworth to be in the top tier of authorities while at the same time delivering the country's lowest council tax is a phenomenal achievement. It puts Wandsworth in a class of its own".
