Benfield Lane – first new road on the York Gardens development

The Winstanley and York Road Joint Venture will shortly commence the first new road in the regeneration scheme. The new road, Benfield Lane, will serve the new replacement council homes at Block 5. The new road name has been resurrected from an old street name, from before the current estate was built. Benfield Street consisted of rows of terraced houses and the local Sunday School beneath the now York Gardens park. 

The construction works are being undertaken by an appointed contractor, Bennetts Construction Ltd, commencing in July 2023. View the construction newsletter.
