Marriages and Civil Partnerships

Civil Partnerships and Civil Marriages are secular (non-religious) ceremonies conducted and registered by a Registrar. Civil partners are not required to have a ceremony and can have a simple registration.

Give notice

A notice of intent to marry or form a Civil Partnership must be given at least 29 days before the ceremony date.

Arranging a ceremony and venue

You can get married at the Register Office or at any approved venue in Wandsworth. You need to check the availability of the Registrars to attend a ceremony. You should not pay for a ceremony until it has been booked.

Civil Partnership conversions

From the 10 December 2014 you can convert a Civil Partnership into a marriage.
