Domestic violence and abuse

Domestic violence is a crime. Call 999 in an emergency.

The police have a Community Safety Unit with female and male officers specially trained to offer you support and advice. Your safety will be priority.

Domestic violence happens when your partner or ex-partner or other family member hurts or threatens to hurt you. It may include physical abuse, emotional/psychological abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse and harassment.
