Types of cleaner fuels and vehicles available in the UK that offer significant environmental benefits and have lower running costs include:
- Electric vehicles
- Electric hybrid vehicles
- LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas)
- CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)
- Biomethane
- Fuel cell vehicles
If you have an alternatively fuelled vehicle, you may qualify for a reduced price parking permit. 'Greener' permits are available to DVLA Band A (petrol or diesel), electric or bio-methane fuelled vehicles.
