The decision-making process
3 March 2012: Wandsworth Council and Elliott Trust launch a consultation on a S.77 application to the Department for Education for consent to dispose of the land
25 May: The S.77 consultation closes
11 June: Wandsworth Council's Finance and Overview Scrutiny Committee discusses the consultation and suggests amendments to the original proposals with a reduced disposal area
23 July: Department for Education gives consent to the S.77 application to dispose of part of the site
21 August: Wandsworth Council's Finance and Overview Scrutiny Committee recommends to the executive whether or not part of the school site should be disposed of following bids from potential developers
1 September: Elliott School becomes ARK Putney Academy
October: Conditional contracts for the sale of the land to Barratt London is agreed
December: Pre-planning consultation by Lend Lease and Barratts begin
Early 2013: Planning applications submitted and the council consults on both applications.
Summer 2013: If planning consent is gained, construction/renovation work would begin. Work is scheduled to take two years.
