Outcome of statutory proposals relating to Bradstow and Oak Lodge Schools

During October 2016, the Council published statutory proposals relating to Bradstow and Oak Lodge special schools.  The Council has now approved the proposals, which will mean that:

  • from 1 April 2017, Bradstow will be approved as a mixed special school offering 61 places of which 56 are residential and five for day pupils aged 5 to 19 with autistic spectrum disorder, severe learning difficulties, and associated social, emotional and mental health needs;
  • from 1 September 2017, Oak Lodge will be approved as a mixed special school offering 100 places for pupils aged 10 to 19 with a hearing impairment, speech, language and communication needs with 15 residential places.
