Paying your service charge

There are various ways to make payments for major works and services charges:

  • Online
  • By phone (debit or credit card): automated line 0845 835 0129 (1.4% surcharge for credit cards, no charge for debit cards)
  • By direct debit/standing order
  • By post

Pay by instalment

This is discretionary instalment facility service designed to help owner-occupiers spread the cost of their service charges and major works bills over ten monthly payments, interest free.

Leaseholders must live at the address as an owner-occupier to qualify for the scheme. The instalment facility may be withdrawn if you fall into arrears on your payments.

Make your cheque or postal order payable to: Wandsworth Council

On the back, clearly write your name, address and council account number.

Am I entitled to a reduction?

In certain circumstances, you may be entitled to a reduction. If your total service charges for major works and routine annual service charges, in the past five years, comes to more than £10,000 we may be able to reduce the amount you have to pay.

Each case will need to be assessed before we can tell you if you qualify. To discuss your circumstances further please contact property accounts section on 020 8871 6590.

Applying for a reduction

We will automatically send an application form to apply for a reduction.

If you think you may qualify for a reduction but have not received an application form, contact your estate manager or RMO.

Problems paying you bills

Your lease agreements requires you to pay your services charges (routine and major). If payment is not received within 14 days interest will be charged a 6% above the Barclays Base Rate.

If you are an owner-occupier no interest will be charged if you have made arrangements to pay and do not fall into arrears.
