General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and your pension
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new set of European Union (EU) regulations that came into effect in the UK on 25 May 2018. Together with the new Data Protection Act 2018 these provide new and extended rights for individuals in relation to the personal data an organisation holds about them.
The processing of data in the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) data matching exercise is carried out with statutory authority under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It does not require the consent of the individuals concerned under the Data Protection Act 2018 or the GDPR.
