Putney Town centre appoints its first BID Ambassadors

Putney BID Ambassadors
The Putney Business Improvement District (BID) has appointed two full time Street Ambassadors to work with local businesses and help promote the area to visitors.

Employed through The Welcome People, the role of the ambassadors – instantly recognisable by their panama hats and blue jackets – will be a varied one. The ambassadors will monitor and make regular visits to local businesses. This is to make sure they are getting the best out of the BID’s services and projects. Their collaborative working will be to act as the ‘eyes and ears’ on the streets of Putney. The aim is to help increase the attractiveness of the town centre to potential shoppers and visitors, entice new shoppers and increase repeat visits.

In order to do this the ambassadors will work closely with statutory services including Wandsworth Council, the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London. They will work together to highlight cleansing and behavioural issues. This includes graffiti, litter, illegal street trading, faulty street lights, broken pavements and anti-social behaviour.

The ambassadors will also deliver expert guidance to visitors, directing them to the most relevant locations for their particular needs.
