Battersea Developer Meets local Suppliers

Nine Elms supply chain

French contractor Bouygues - who signed the UK’s biggest ever building contract to deliver phase three of Battersea Power Station re-development - were key note speakers at the latest Supply Nine Elms on the South Bank ‘Meet the Buyer’ event.

This construction contract will have a value of in excess of £1bn, making it the largest private building contract ever to be awarded and further supports the local supply chain with a range of procurement opportunities anticipated to be available.

Andy Peace from Bouygues said:

We were delighted to be given the opportunity to speak to local businesses about the opportunities available and identify specific opportunities which matched a number of businesses. The procurement team were also able to give advice on the tendering process.

The Supply Nine Elm ‘members’ event welcomed over thirty local businesses from a wide range of sectors.

Beaver Pest Control, one of the Wandsworth businesses in attendance, said:

Meet the buyers events are very useful for us because they allow us to talk to buyers from large construction companies like Bouygues which we ordinarily couldn’t do through normal channels.
