What's on
The Shimmy
27th May, 13:00 to 17:00 - The Shimmy is a free outdoor festival like no other - named because it shimmies between the variances of what outdoor art can be, including street art, dance, workshops, installation and interaction. It is held in St Mary's Church Square (by Putney Odeon), Putney Wharf, Deodar Road and Wandsworth Park. Shimmying through the nooks and crannies of this riverside stretch are a series of arts encounters like you've never had before.
Hear the underwater sounds of the Thames performed along the avenue of trees in Wandsworth Park, try not to start a food-fight at the crazy picnic in the park, take cover with stories and tiffin, listen in on other people's car conversations on Deodar Road, watch stunning dance performances at Putney Wharf and have a go yourself with the Dance Spinner at Church Square. For more information and to download the event map visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/artsfestival or contact (020) 8871 8711 or arts@wandsworth.gov.uk
