Putney Town Centre

Putney is a thriving commercial centre with a very active evening economy, making it a great place to do business, go shopping and relax.

With an unusually high proportion of generally affluent 25 to 45 year olds the town provides a variety of distractions and has a truly remarkable range of pubs, bars and restaurants.

The development of Putney Wharf has opened-up the riverside area significantly, with plenty of places to eat, drink and relax by the water. The new Brewer building next to historic St Mary's Church, incorporating a cafe and meting rooms, provides a great focal point for local community activity.

The Putney Partnership is responsible for helping to channel developments in Putney. The Board includes members of local businesses, the Putney Society, Wandsworth Council and other local representatives.

Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race
Putney Bridge is the starting point of the annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, the best known university boat race in the world. Come and enjoy the race in Putney's pubs, bars and restaurants many of which organise live and DJ presented music and have wide screen TV's, so you can enjoy the whole race. Putney Music Festival (early September - date tbc)
Putney plays host to a musical extravaganza in pubs, clubs and restaurants throughout the town. Live bands and DJ's perform in around 20 venues with an eclectic mix of music ranging from opera to rock, with Latin, jazz and acoustic for good measure. See the Putney Events pages.
