Tooting Library redevelopment
Tooting's brand new library is now open.
The new-look library has benefited from a £3 million redevelopment to make better use of its space and provide a more comfortable and modern environment.
The refurbishment has seen the introduction of new heating and lighting, better public toilet facilities and a lift to all floors.
A public access computer room has also been created and the library now makes full use of self-service terminals where customers can issue and return books independently and manage their own accounts. The modernisation proposals were drawn up following consultation with local people and were jointly funded by Wandsworth Council and the Big Lottery Fund.
