Advice for people who are homeless or worried about losing their home

The Homeless Queue

Council tenants

If you are accepted by Wandsworth Council as being homeless, eligible and in priority need, you will be provided with temporary accommodation.

If we also accept that you are unintentionally homeless (i.e. homeless through no fault of your own) and have a local connection to Wandsworth, we will then help you find a home by either:

  • helping you find a private rented home and, if necessary, helping you with the deposit
  • registering you on the Homeless Queue and continuing to provide you with temporary accommodation until we are able to offer you a social rented (council or housing association) home.

If you are currently living in temporary accommodation provided by us and are interested in moving into privately rented accommodation, either in Wandsworth or elsewhere, the council may be able to assist you under the QUAST (Qualifying Assured Short Hold Tenancy) scheme. For more information, please contact the Temporary Accommodation Team on 020 8871 7860 or 020 8871 7365.

If you are registered on our Homeless Queue, and are interested in moving out of London or into privately rented accommodation that is not in Wandsworth, you may also be eligible for assistance under the Out of Borough Scheme.
