Green Pledge Scheme
Make our borough greener by pledging to make a small change in your daily life. If everyone pledges we can make big savings on energy use, water consumption and the amount of rubbish that gets thrown away.
Throughout 2009 Wandsworth residents saved 500 tonnes of CO2 by making small habitual changes like turning off the tap when brushing teeth. By the end of 2010 new pledgers had added another 100 tonnes to this saving. The energy equivalent of using 600 tonnes of carbon is making 60 cups of tea for everyone in Wandsworth.
Make an online pledge or pick up a pledge form from your local library. Random prize draws for pledgers are held regularly. Past winners have received family tickets to the wildlife park and recycled tableware.
