Primary schools
Introduction to our schools
All Wandsworth schools offer a curriculum which covers the academic subjects and more besides. As well as providing excellent teaching in key areas like reading and mathematics, our schools aim to encourage the healthy development of a child's physical, emotional and social skills.
Schools are inspected regularly, both by our own SIPs and by OFSTED. This helps schools to continue to provide a good standard of education and to meet the targets which children are expected to achieve at the end of each key stage of their education.
Children are admitted to reception classes in our primary schools in the September of the school year in which they become five years old.
There are 54 primary schools in Wandsworth (plus one infant and one junior school), most of which have a nursery class. There are also three nursery schools. To find out where the schools are and brief details about each of them please refer to the Directories section showing the location of schools.
To find out more about schools you are interested in please contact them direct to request a prospectus or an appointment to visit. Telephone numbers and addresses are included in the details. The schools can also provide you with an application form to request a place.
