Cycle training courses

Young Person's Advanced Cycle Courses (Level 3)

Level 3 Courses

To be arranged subject to demand and availability

  • Free
  • For a course to go ahead, there must be a minimum of 4 pupils for that session.
  • For young people who live or go to school or college in Wandsworth
  • Pupils must have completed the basic cycle course - level 2
  • Courses are aimed at pupils who can ride their bikes with confidence and to level 2 standard
  • Pupils must bring their bikes with them to the sessions
  • Bikes must be roadworthy
  • The course lasts 2 hours or longer if appropriate (the whole course must be completed)
  • The course is mainly on local roads
  • Training is carried out by National Standards instructors, trained and approved by Wandsworth Council.
  • The council has a public liability insurance that covers training courses
  • All simple health and safety rules must be met by course students (and parents/guardians)

Before booking a course

  • Has your child completed the basic cycle training course (level 2)?
  • Is your child's bike the right size and roadworthy?
  • Is your child available to attend the whole course?
  • Cycle helmets are recommended
