Basic Cycle Training Courses for Children (Level 2)
February 2012 Half Term Courses
- Monday 13 - Friday 17 February 2012 (5 day course)
Venues and times
- Graveney School: 10am until 12pm each day
- Battersea Park: 1pm until 3pm each day
Notes for year 6 pupils and above
- For a course to go ahead, there must be a minimum of 4 pupils for that session.
- These are "on-road" courses usually consisting of at least four, two hourly sessions.
- Courses are usually from your child's school during curriculum time, and also during most school holidays at various locations in the borough.
- Courses are for pupils who can ride their bikes confidently and either live or school in the borough.
- Pupils must bring their own bikes with them to each session
- Bikes must be roadworthy
- Cycle helmets are recommended
- Pupils are introduced to cycling in light / medium traffic conditions with sessions covering cycle control, safe cycling techniques, junction routine, etc.
- Instructors are National Standards instructors and Wandsworth council approved.
- The council has public liability insurance that covers training courses
- All children (and parents/guardians) must obey the health and safety rules of the course

- Will your child be 10 at the start of the course?
- Is your child's bike the right size and roadworthy?
- Is your child available to attend the whole course?
- Does your child have a cycle helmet? (recommended)
