Termination of TCIS scheme (31 December 2011)
Important Notice
Wandsworth Council has decided to withdraw the Town Centre Improvement Scheme with effect from 31st December 2011. Existing commitments be honoured.
A report to the Council's Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee (Paper No: 11-880 of 14th November 2011) reviewed the scheme which had previously been directed towards independent small businesses in the Borough's Town Centres and in some important local shopping parades.
The Committee approved the setting up of a new Wandsworth Loan Fund which will be available to all independent small businesses across the Borough.
The members considered that the original objectives of the TCIS had been met and that a new Wandsworth Loan Fund, available to all independent small businesses across the Borough will be a more appropriate response to the current economic climate in which many small businesses have difficulty accessing commercial finance.
Contract negotiations are taking place regarding delivery of the loan and it is hoped that applications can be considered from 1st May 2012.
