Nine Elms on the South Bank is central London 's biggest regeneration area. A multi billion pound investment programme is now transforming this largely industrial district into a brand new residential and business quarter.

About the project

As this vast area redevelops the council is securing major improvements to local transport services, new jobs and training opportunities for local people, new affordable homes, a new school and vast areas of new green open space.

Leader of Wandsworth Council Ravi Govindia explains more:

"Nine Elms on the South Bank will be a fantastic place to live, an internationally significant business district and a new centre for arts and culture in London . It will offer life changing opportunities to the area's existing residents and will become home to another 30,000 people.

"The building programme will provide tens of thousands of new jobs in the construction and engineering industries and up to 1,000 apprenticeship places. We are ensuring that local people are first in line to take up these valuable opportunities.

"As a new commercial hub takes shape the area's existing business community will also benefit from a wealth of growth opportunities. Transport links to be vastly improved, visitor footfall will increase and opportunities to supply the construction programme will be targeted specifically at local firms."
