Management advisory committees
What they do and who to contact
Management advisory committees (MACs) are voluntary groups made up from local people who are interested in how the commons are run, and representatives of local societies, clubs or groups.
MACs meet regularly with the a parks officer for friendly discussion to:
- Help achieve a balance between facilities for formal and informal recreational use on the commons
- Monitor the protection and development of plant and animal life
- Retain and enhance the natural character of the commons
- Promote public interest and participation in the protection and appreciation of the common.
