How to use the Heritage Service and opening times
The local studies and search room for archives is on the first floor of Battersea Library and is open to everyone on:
- Monday to Thursday from 9.30am-8pm*
- Friday 9.30am-6pm*
- Saturday 9.30am-5.30pm*
- Sunday 1pm-5pm
*Qualified staff will be available all day on Tuesday and Friday and until 1.30pm on Saturday.
It is not always possible to produce archive material on demand, please try to request it in advance where possible.
Using the search room
- take care when handling material, ask for advice
- bags must be placed in one of the lockers available
- do not bring food or drink into the searchroom
- advise staff before taking photographs
- do not use mobile scanners
Access
There is no lift to give level access to the search room, but alternative arrangements will be made to enable you to consult archives on the ground floor if you tell us in advance.
