Clement Richard Attlee (1883 – 1967)
1st Earl Attlee, Labour Party Leader 1935-1955, Deputy Prime Minister 1942-1945 and Prime Minister 1945 - 1951. Born at 18 Portinscale Road, Putney where he lived until he was a young man. He presided over major social reforms including a nationalisation programme and National Health Service.
