Food safety - Scores on the doors
Introduction
Wandsworth participates in the "Scores on the Doors" scheme, a national food hygiene scheme with over 120 participating local authorities. It allows the public to see the results of food inspections as a star rating. Star rating certificates and window stickers have been sent out to all our businesses inspected since 1 January 2006.
It is hoped that the publication of hygiene scores will encourage the poorer performing food businesses in the borough to improve their standards. Similar successful schemes have been used in USA, Denmark and Canada.
