Inspections for immigration purposes
Prior to allowing immigration into this country, applicants may be asked by the immigration authorities to provide evidence that the accommodation that the applicant intends to occupy is suitable. Applicants are sometimes wrongly informed that the Local Authority will undertake and inspection for this purpose.
The Council is unable to provide the service of carrying out inspections for immigration applications.
It is recommended that you contact an independent Environmental Health Officer, or Chartered Surveyor who can carry out the inspection for you. Details of independent Environmental Health Officers can be obtained from:The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
