They can help identify the best options for you whether you want to take advantage of the latest insulation deals, find out more about renewable energy or save money on your food and fuel bills.

You can also get a free home energy report by filling in a Home Energy Check questionnaire. The free personalised report shows how you can save around £270 on your fuel bills and help reduce your carbon dioxide emissions.

Free Green Deal and ECO events for Private Landlords

CPD accredited

Fuel poverty charity National Energy Action (NEA), in partnership with British Gas and the National Landlords Association are organising a series of free Green Deal and ECO events across the UK aimed specifically at private landlords. The events are CPD accredited. NEA are asking our members to help promote these events to private landlords.

There will be six seminars across England, Wales and Scotland aimed at informing private landlords on the Government's Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation and exploring some of the potential barriers and solutions to successful delivery of the schemes.

The private rented sector has a higher incidence of cold hazards than any other housing sector and this is a particular issue for older properties that may not be well insulated or may lack modern heating systems. Under the Government's Green Deal scheme, private landlords will be able to make energy efficiency improvements without having to pay for them upfront, providing the opportunity to improve both the fabric of their properties and the comfort and wellbeing of their tenants.

These half-day events will feature presentations from senior representatives at NEA, British Gas, Government, and the National Landlords Association as well as examples of best practice at a local level and the opportunity to network with representatives from the sector.

There is no charge for attendance.

The seminars are being held in the following locations:

  • 12 March - Manchester - Mercure Piccadilly Hotel, Portland St ,  Piccadilly Plaza , Manchester M1 4PH
