Mutual Exchange Schemes
If you are a council or housing association tenant, you may be able to exchange your home with another council or housing association tenant anywhere in the UK, provided both you and the tenant you wish to swap. You must get written permission from both of your landlords before you move, which can only be refused on certain grounds. This is called a mutual exchange. Tenants wanting to participate in a mutual exchange should register with the lettings and allocation section on (020) 8871 6809/6811/8226.
