Parking on estates
Introduction
This section contains information about the housing department's Parking Regulation Scheme (PRS) around the borough. These are introduced at the request of residents and are in place to ensure the effective control of traffic management to maximise available parking to residents and their visitors around blocks and estates in the borough.
Estates covered by a PRS display clear signs advising motorists that parking regulations are in force.
Find out if your street or estate is covered by a PRS or by a CPZ (controlled parking zone)
Estate parking permits are not valid in Controlled Parking Zones on the public highway.
Any vehicle parking on estates must display a valid permit and a current road tax disc in their windscreen or face clamping and removal by the council's contractor. A financial penalty applies to any vehicle clamped or towed and impounded and must be paid before release.
Disabled parking - Blue Badges
Residents parking in a disabled bay on a council housing estate covered by a PRS will need to display a valid tax disc for the vehicle being used and a valid Blue Badge. Failure to show both of these items will result in a vehicle being clamped.
To obtain advice on the application process or to request an application form for a Blue Badge please contact the concessionary travel team or telephone 020 8871 7709/8871.
