Council housing - Antisocial behaviour and crime
Drugs
If you are a council tenant, your tenancy conditions state that you, your lodgers, friends, relatives, visitors and any other person living in the property must not use the property for any criminal or illegal purpose. This includes selling or using illegal drugs.
If you want to know about anti-social behaviour that is not connected to council estates or residents, please see the anti-social behaviour pages.
Any information that you supply will be kept in confidence. Where a drug prosecution is linked to a council managed property, our officers will seek to use the legal powers available to us to obtain possession of the property if appropriate.
The Council will seek to work closely with its partner agencies i.e. Police and Safer Neighbourhood teams (SNTs) to ensure that your estate is a safer place to live. You can also get involved with your local community i.e. Residents Associations, Neighbourhood Watch, SNT ward meetings.
