Family Recovery Project
The Family Recovery Project (FRP) is a new service set up by Wandsworth Council and government and voluntary sector agencies including the local Police, health services and Job Centre Plus.
The FRP works with a small number of families in the community with the most complex and multiple problems. These families will already be known to to GPs, Education Welfare Officers, Social Workers, and the Police.
Despite all the costly interventions in place, these families continue to experience problems that may lead to them losing their children into care, losing their homes or, in the case of criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, their liberty.
The FRP works with families to secure better results for children, young people and adults with additional needs by co-ordinating the support they
currently receive from childrens, young peoples, adults and family services and identifying any gaps in support which they might need.
This means the FRP looks at the needs of the whole family and works with them to address causes of problems rather than symptoms.
