Child poverty strategy consultation
Overview
Wandsworth Children's Trust has been developing a Strategy and supporting action plan to reduce the incidence and impact of poverty in the borough.
Growing up in poverty is more likely to have a negative impact on a child's life chances and on their opportunities as an adult and children living in poverty tend to have lower educational attainment and are more vulnerable in terms of their short and longer term health and well being.
The Child Poverty Strategy has been designed to provide a coherent framework for the coordination of programmes and support across the borough.
You can view the Strategy and supporting action plan in the related downloads area.
As the aim is for this Strategy to be adopted by partners and agencies operating within Wandsworth Children's Trust, your views are being sought as part of a formal consultation process.
The consultation period ended on 30 November 2009 and the final Child Poverty Strategy and action plan was published in spring 2010.
